High Season 2014 – Tourism expo with the participation of the European Consumer Centre

Between 30-31 August 2014 the 8th High Season expo will be organised in the Buda Castle district in. In addition to the rich variety of travel, accommodation and gastronomy offers numerous entertainment and family programs will be available.

During the expo all kind of touristic attractions will be represented. Apart from the hotels, well-known spa-resorts, the fans of the Hungarian cities, popular and still undiscovered resort places, hiking and cycling trails, moreover mountain and water adventure sites and also the extreme sport lovers can find the options they are looking for. In addition to the domestic offers the foreign programs of travel organisers will be present, too.

The European Consumer Centre(ECC) hosted by the Hungarian Authority for Consumer Protection (HACP) has been a regular participant of the event for many years, as the visitors are always happy to get new information about their consumer rights and seek advice from the experts on the spot in case of concrete problems. These experts are able to provide them with the necessary information. Moreover the interested participants can fill in a quiz assessing and improving the knowledge of consumer-related issues, and the ECC will also recommend its publications addressing interesting and important problems arising in connection with foreign travels and purchasing abroad.

Furthermore, at the stand of the ECC the visitors will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the operation of the two laboratories of the HACP. On 30 August the experts of the Mechanical and Electrical Laboratory will demonstrate how and when a product is considered dangerous, and concrete examples of toys and electrical products will be introduced. On 31 August anyone can ask the expert of the Food and Chemical Industrial Laboratory to check the light protection factor of their sunglasses and nickel release of their jewellery.

Important notice: All programs of High Season are free!

We will be happy to meet you on the last weekend of August between 10-18 o’clock in Buda Castle at the stand of the European Consumer Centre (house No. 48).
